Neon Dance began as a collection of observations from past life drawing sessions.
Working with black Indian ink, gouache, and watercolour, I allowed the model to emerge through layers of colour, movement, and spontaneous linework. The vibrant pinks, yellows, and greens draw inspiration from the bold visual language of the 1980s.
The result sits somewhere between portrait and memory. The subject is both present and dissolving, defined and unfinished. Every mark remains visible, celebrating the beauty of transformation rather than perfection.
