Kvalnes I, Lofoten field with sheep

Painted on Lofoten during my artist residency at Villa Lofoten in Kvalnes, autumn 2026. In 1896 my great-grandmother Trull travelled north to Skomvær lighthouse, beyond Røst, to be governess to the lighthouse keeper's child. After a year of painting her Lofoten from imagination, I finally went there myself.

A wide green field under a heavy, moving sky, with two sheep grazing and dark mountains along the horizon. Rust and orange grasses fill the foreground.

This is a canvas print reproduction of my original watercolour painting, hand-stretched and ready to hang, no framing needed (or choose a solid wood oak or black frame).

About the image
These are high-quality prints of original watercolour paintings. One of the unique charms of watercolour is its natural variation: subtle irregularities, uneven washes and other traces of the original painting process are part of the medium’s character.

I have deliberately chosen not to alter or digitally retouch the original paintings when preparing these prints. The prints therefore preserve the natural character and imperfections of the original watercolour. These are not defects, but part of what makes each painting unique.
