'Rushing In' is my best work to date — a moment of pure, untamed energy frozen at sunset.

A powerful turquoise wave surges forward, curling and breaking white over dark, rugged rocks in the foreground, catching the last gold of the day. Behind it, the sea stretches out in layers of deep blue and glittering foam toward a horizon ablaze with coral, orange and rose-gold clouds. The low sun throws a molten path across the water, where a lone sailboat drifts in calm contrast to the rush below, while two gulls wheel high above the light. It's that tension I love — the wild, rushing power in the foreground against the serene, infinite calm beyond.
