‘Calm with a Pulse’ reflects the quiet, repetitive patterns that can feel grounding for many neurodivergent people. The concentric circles have been made with texture paste layered with a rhythmic consistency, creating texture that you can almost feel with your eyes. There’s a sense of order and predictability in the repetition, like stimming or routine that helps regulate the nervous system. The subtle variations in depth and tone show that even within repetition, there’s room for nuance - no two circles are identical, just as no two moments of focus or calm feel exactly the same.

The flashes of neon yellow cutting across the circles add another layer to that experience. They’re deliberate interruptions, highlighting specific arcs without breaking the overall structure. It mirrors how attention can work for neurodivergent minds: a steady background rhythm interrupted by moments of heightened focus, curiosity, or sensory pull. The yellow doesn’t erase the pattern; it  emphasises it, showing that what stands out and what recedes can coexist. The artwork suggests that both the steady, repetitive base and the sudden, bright detail are valid parts of how meaning and beauty are made.
