Too Bright to Stay In Print

‘Too bright to stay in’ starts with a circle — red on the outside, orange in the middle — like something spinning or held together. Then the yellow breaks in. It doesn’t stay in the rings. It pushes out, folds over, and spills to the right in thick, bright chunks. The paint is layered and physical. You can see where it was moved, lifted, and dragged. The circle wants to be contained, and the yellow refuses.

The pull between needing a structure and needing to burst out of it. The red and orange give a rhythm, a center to come back to. The yellow is impulse, joy, overload — all at once. It doesn’t ruin the circle. It makes it more alive. The work doesn’t ask for neatness. It asks you to hold both: the loop and the spill, the order and the energy that won’t sit still.
