‘Ordered Fragments’ Print

‘Ordered Fragments’ uses a rigid grid to hold fragments that refuse to behave the same way twice. Some squares are dense with a dark brown and an apple colour, others barely touched, some interrupted by raw white space that breaks the pattern. That tension between structure and variation mirrors how neurodivergent minds often operate: operating within systems and routines, but processing, responding, and expressing in ways that don’t conform to a single template. The grid doesn’t erase the difference between cells—it makes it visible. Each block is part of a whole, yet distinct in texture, weight, and rhythm.

Viewed from a distance, the composition resolves into a cohesive image. Up close, it fragments into individual moments of intensity, hesitation, and release. That shift reflects a common neurodivergent experience: being read as “one thing” from the outside, while internally navigating a more complex, non-linear landscape of thought and sensation. The artwork doesn’t ask the viewer to choose between order and spontaneity. It suggests that meaning emerges precisely because both are present, side by side, without forcing one to dominate the other.
