Iirumva Isaac is a contemporary visual artist based in Kigali, Rwanda. His work centers on human connection, memory, and the quiet moments of everyday life. Through bold characters, expressive color, and emotional storytelling, he reflects on how people relate to one another and to the spaces they inhabit.
Recently, his practice has been moving toward plant-inspired forms. Using organic shapes, natural palettes, and subtle botanical references, he explores themes of inner healing, resilience, and mental states. For Isaac, plants are not just visual elements, they become metaphors for growth, vulnerability, and strength.
Rooted in both personal experience and the shared memory of his community, his work invites reflection and honesty. He describes his approach as “giving life to thoughts,” creating paintings that feel like open conversations between what we carry inside and the world around us.
