This mixed-media work combines mark-making and collage in a layered composition. I created many of the circular marks using simple stamping techniques, allowing the shapes to repeat and overlap across the surface.
As the marks accumulated, different rhythms began to appear — circles, stripes, blocks of colour, and fragments of imagery interacting with one another. I enjoy working in this intuitive way, where patterns emerge gradually, and the composition develops through repetition and variation.
For me, this piece is a small study in visual rhythm, where simple marks create movement and structure across the surface.

- Vibrant, long-lasting colours with water-based HP Latex inks and UV protection.

About the Artist
Hello, I’m Vica, an artist based in Glasgow. I create mixed-media artworks and prints using materials such as paper, paint, thread and collage.
My work often combines simple figures, patterns and bold colour fields. I’m interested in how marks, lines and repeated shapes can suggest signals, movement and the ways we find our place within different systems and environments.
Each piece begins as an original handmade artwork, and the prints allow these works to travel into new spaces and homes.
