‘Broken on Purpose’ has been fractured and rejoined. Sweeping arcs of deep teal, magenta, and black are interrupted by bright gold lines that trace every break like circuitry or scars made visible. The gold does not hide the damage. It maps it, celebrates it, and turns it into connection.

Breakdowns, burnout, and meltdowns leave marks. But recovery is not about returning to a smooth, unmarked state. It is about building new pathways out of what split apart. The gold here is adaptation: accommodations, coping strategies, self-knowledge earned the hard way.

The paint itself is physical. Ridges, grit, and layered swipes show the labor of processing. Nothing about this is effortless or automatic. For many neurodivergent people, daily life requires translating the world, then translating yourself back to it. Those gold lines are the workarounds that let signal jump from one section to another when the original path broke. The piece refuses to pretend the fractures never happened. It also refuses to see them as failure. The composition is only whole because it was allowed to break. That is neurodivergence without the mask: complex, repaired in gold, and stronger at the joined places than it ever was before.
