‘Structured Drift’ mirrors how many neurodivergent minds experience the world - structured and scattered at once. The painted geometric blocks below are precise, ordered, with clean edges and deliberate color blocks that feel like a system or a plan holding things together. Above them, the wooden shapes sit raised and off-kilter, each at a different angle, not quite aligned but intentionally placed. That tension between the need for structure and the pull toward different, non-linear ways of seeing is familiar to a lot of people with ADHD, autism, dyspraxia, and other forms of neurodivergence. Nothing here is hidden or trying to look “normal” - the texture, the shadow, the slight asymmetry are all part of what makes it work.
There’s also a quiet invitation to focus on detail and pattern without demanding conformity. The eye moves between the flat painted surfaces and the tactile wood, between the warm oranges and yellows and the neutral wood tones, finding connections that aren’t obvious at first glance. For neurodivergent viewers, art like this can feel validating because it doesn’t force a single way of looking or interpreting. It says that different angles, different heights, different materials can coexist on the same surface and still make sense together. That’s the point - order doesn’t have to mean uniform, and difference isn’t something to smooth out.
