‘Blue Won’ runs cold and deep. Thirty-six cells locked in a grid, but the paint refuses to stay in its lane. Navy, cerulean, ice blue, and black all bleed across the white borders. Thick impasto in some squares. Dry brush in others. Stray drips and perfect circles. It looks like someone tried to organize a feeling and the feeling said no. Through a neurodiversity lens, this is monotropism. When your attention tunnels hard into one channel. Here the channel is blue. Every shade, every texture, every gesture is an exploration of the same wavelength. The grid is the attempt at regulation. The chaos inside each box is what actually happens when you focus that intensely.
The white grid lines are masking. They create the illusion of order, separation, control. But look closer. The paint ignores the boundaries. It smears under the tape, jumps squares, leaves ghosts of marks where it should be clean. That is how a neurodivergent brain handles systems. You build the structure because you have to. Then your actual experience spills out anyway. The black dots are anchor points. Sensory hits. Moments where attention snapped to something specific and held. This is not calm. It is hyperfocus made physical. A full-body dive into one color until it becomes a universe. The piece does not ask you to be soothed by blue. It asks you to understand how deep a single interest can go when you stop apologizing for the depth.
