That gold path on the water is the only line my brain wanted to follow. Everything else went quiet — the people on the edge small and soft, the black lava rock cut-out like a silhouette puppet, the boat barely there. At sunset in Tenerife the light finally stops flickering and just pours. My neurodiverse system, which spends all day scanning for threat and pattern and change, can finally just track one slow, certain thing: the sun going down the same way it has always gone down. No decisions.
This is why I call it Art Without Labels. I am allowed to be the still pool in the foreground and the wild sea behind the wall at the same time. I am allowed to love big, bright, absolute sunsets without calling them too much. That reflection stretching from the horizon straight to my feet feels like a special interest — intense, beautiful, and pointing directly at me. No masking, no explaining. Just standing at the safe edge, letting the light do its work, and knowing I can hold both the calm and the vastness without choosing one.
