Størrelse: 60 x 40 cm / 24 x 16″
Indramning: No Frame
Part of my Föreställningar om Lofoten / Imagining Lofoten series, painted after my great-grandmother Trull's 1896 diary of her years on Skomvær, the lighthouse island off Røst in Lofoten. Where the other pieces in the series look out to sea, this one turns toward the mountains that surround the island, rendered almost entirely in black and white against a single, saturated turquoise sky.
The heavy texture across the slopes comes from watercolour granulation and salt technique, giving the rock a frost-like, crystalline surface. It's a quieter, more graphic piece than the coastal views, built around contrast rather than colour.
This is a canvas print reproduction of my original watercolour painting, hand-stretched and ready to hang, no framing needed (or choose a solid wood oak or black frame).
