Damn, where did I lose my contact lens? looks for a balance between blue and red, between the rational mind and emotion. One description sums it up: contact lenses remove flaws – with them you become more beautiful; when you lose them coming home from a party, how does everything look then? The painting took eight months, longer than anything else I have painted, and at 120 × 170 cm it is my largest canvas – it is fun to challenge yourself now and then. You won't find two identical areas of colour in it: every shade of the woman's figure and the bathroom is slightly different, and I remember patiently searching for the combination in which they would all sound together. The woman who bought it called it psychedelic and later said she never gets bored looking at it. Acrylic on canvas, 2011.
